One of the most watched rom-coms of 2023 is finding its way to our blog finally – today we review Love Reset (30 Days) starring the amazing Jung Somin and Kang Haneul as bickering spouses.

It took forever for this movie to be available outside of movie theaters and I’m so happy I finally ended up watching it although a few months late. I’ve been missing good rom-coms in the k-movie land and it’s so good to have something that really does have both rom and com in it – although I think the movie could’ve been developed a bit better. However, I’m here for cliches, great chemistry, great acting and chaotic friendships and family matters – bring all the drama and cheese into my life! Let’s review Love Reset and see what it’s about if you haven’t watched it yet!
From MyDramaList: Jung Yeol and Na Ra fell in love with each other and got married. During their marriage, they have grown to hate each other due to their personality differences. They decide to get a divorce. A month later, their divorce will be finalized. But, on the day that they applied for a divorce, they get into a car accident. When they wake up at the hospital, they have both lost their memories and do not remember each other.
No spoilers ahead:
Love Reset has a simple and direct plot which begins immediately – I was a bit surprised by the movie simply throwing us into the story without any preparation so be prepared to have quite a sparse backstory surrounding the movie. As the summary says, the two leads get married but are heading for divorce when they encounter a car accident and completely lose their memories – not even remembering they got married to each other nor that they were going to divorce. You can imagine the shenanigans Love Reset provides us with considering the chaotic plot and this was definitely the best part of the movie for me.
Both Jung Somin and Kang Haneul are great actors and they have great chemistry with each other – they both have a mature but silly aura around them in this movie and I was totally loving this aspect. It’s so fun watching them trying to pick up their forgotten life while also trying to learn more about each other and why they’re getting divorced in the first place, all while their families bring a mess of their own into the game. The movie offers a lot of comedy, which sometimes sticks and sometimes it doesn’t, and it’s a very solid rom-com in general.
I think the only thing Love Reset was missing was the backstory – for us to see and feel why our two leads married each other in the first place a bit better. The feelings are there, a bit hidden, but the entire film I kept thinking back to their court scene in the beginning when they’re throwing reasons for a divorce at each other and sometimes it made me torn whether or not to root for them. However, the chemistry between these two is so fun and both of their characters are absolutely chaotic, especially after the memory loss. I think the film showed us that hidden deep affection they have for each other during some unexpected scenes, like when Na Ra gets drunk and always runs back to Jung Yeol during the flashbacks. Love Reset was probably trying to be both funny and realistic at the same time but I think for the rom part of this rom-com to work better, we definitely should’ve had more of those flashback moments that only gave us a short glimpse into their relationship.
I loved the ending though – I wasn’t sure how they’re planning on wrapping the story up but it’s on point with the whole film and it makes sense for both characters at the time. It’s both funny and hopeful – although Love Reset is quite fast-paced and deals with a lot of clichés and tropes we all know well, it still brought something fun to the table until the very end. It’s not the best of the genre nor is it the best work of these two amazing actors but it’s a good film to watch during the weekend to kill time and get some laughter of it. It gets a 7.25/10 from me but I’d probably watch it again if it came up on TV.
