The look has gone viral.

BLACKPINK Lisa‘s Met Gala look has become a topic of discussion online.

The Met Gala 2025 took place on May 5, and as usual for the last few years, K-Pop idols were among the attendees. BLACKPINK’s Lisa was among the attendees making their first appearance, and from her first sighting, many waited in anticipation to see her look.

Lisa remained covered as she left the hotel, preparing for a reveal on the event’s “blue carpet.”

Upon her arrival, Lisa revealed her look, which consisted of Louis Vuitton printed tights, a blazer, and a decorative body suit. She went without pants for the look, joining the “exposed underwear” trend.

Lisa looked gorgeous in the look, however, it has sparked criticism online from netizens.

The theme of this year’s Met Gala was Superfine: Tailoring Black Style with a dress code of “Tailored For You.” The event was intended to be a celebration of Black dandy styling, the first time the event’s focus has been Black styling and Black designers.

Lisa’s look could be considered a tailored to her look, featuring elements of menswear but upon close examination, netizens noticed that the bodysuit and blazer actually featured a design.

These parts of her outfit featured embroidered portraits by Black artist Henry Taylor, with one recognized to be American activist Rosa Parks.

The portraits also cover her underwear area, something many have interpreted as disrespectful or even “vulgar.”

On the other hand, many feel that the outfit is fine as it was designed by someone who is Black and simply worn by Lisa. The fact that the print is featured all over the design was also mentioned, pointing out it was not specifically just on the underwear.
